On the occasion of Father’s day, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc penned an emotional post for his late father. The Monegasque driver lost his father, Herve, in 2017 after a battle with illness.
“My father has done absolutely everything for me to get to where I am today. I am so grateful to have had him in my life. He was always doing everything to give everyone around a smile and to make our family happy. 5 years you are gone and I miss you every day. You were the best father I could have wished for. I love you,” wrote the Ferrari driver.
The Monegasque driver has always mentioned that his father played a crucial role in his life and taught him a lot in his early years.

The F1 driver mentioned he learned to remain humble and not take anything for granted from his beloved father. In his interview with Ian Parkes of Goodwood, the Ferrari driver revealed how his father prepared him for the racing world.
“My father had prepared me from the beginning, telling me to stay humble. I think this was the first thing he ever told me whenever we started winning races. It was in karting, but I was seven years old, and obviously at seven years old, when you start winning, you think you are the best and he was already starting to tell me ‘Calm down, Charles’,” said the Monegasque driver.
His father would have been very proud of all his accomplishments. Leclerc is not only one of the best drivers on the grid, but he is also one of the most cherished individuals in F1.
